Matchday Seven - 6-4 Loss VS Cardiff SuperstarsEnd of TTFE Winning StreakIn the most important game of the season so far, the clash between the 2 top teams; TTFE came of worst! There are many excuses that could be made for this match; lack of subs, an off day or poor luck but the fact is, there is no excuse for losing after the current run of form!
Unfortunately, most of the blame should be attributed to one player, Chris Phillips who left huge gaps in the field. Despite the rest of the team working hard to try and cover the gaps left (which has become the TTFE way these days, very 'total football'), it was too much slack to pick up.
Carling and Billy did most of the work of the game for TTFE with Paul mopping up when he had to at the back but it simply wasn't enough to stop the shots, and although Weller dealt with more than his fair share, TTFE conceded double than any other game this season without managing to put their own away. Although the Cardiff Superstars keeper did put in a couple of good saves himself, he was definately beatable as were the rest of the team had TTFE managed to raise there game to the standard they've been playing at all season.
The result leaves us TTFE fans with just one question now; will TTFE bounce back from their first loss in 7 weeks? And my prediction is this; yes they will - they'll up there game to put right what the boys should right off as a bad night for the contenders.
