Matchday Twelve - 11-2 Loss VS Total Teamwear FC The heat was on as TTFE suffered a roasting from title challengers Total Teamwear FC.Will not say much about this encounter because it was dire in our point of view. But I guess that is what happens when an well established, fit side plays a bunch of half fatties in their footballing infancy! The goals were set up from excellent link up play, however the lads just could not contain this rampant side. It looks like
Total Teamwear will be lucky to prize the top spot from
Leave My Arselona, but they deserve something after a very successful season. They themselves have only lost twice, and they were both against
LMA , who themselves have dropped no points this season.
TTFE on the other hand, now look to their final two fixtures against the unknown
F-50's and the determined
Zymotic.
Goals: Thomas 1, Phillips 1.
Goals Tally:
Jenkins 7, Payne 4, Thomas 4, Phillips 4, Pugh 3, Collins 2.
Matchday Eleven - 5-1 Win VS Swifts FC TTFE their largest win with a confident display against bottom team Swifts FC.Taken from James Pugh's blog:
In a match completely the opposite from the week before, the team entered a pitch feeling more like a blazing desert rather than the swimming pool of last week.
It was very, very hot and it was obvious than we needed to keep the ball rather than chase the other team around the pitch. We were facing a team who had previously drawn 2-2 with the third placed team Jepras FC, definitely a team to be careful with. With Phillips and Preece being caught up in road closures in town we started with a strange team line up that saw Weller in goals, Tom and Jenkins on the wings, Pugh as centre back and Gagi upfront. After only a few minutes of play, the strange line up and heat gave us a battling mentality, we weren’t going to let them play. Pugh and Jenkins even tackled each other, a strange incident that let even the ref confused (defiantly the heat and determination from both!). The line up very quickly evolved into everyone covering everything, if there was a runner someone always went to get him, it was hard work but were covering everything, it worked!
0-0 at half time and we were all glad for drink and the cold sink! With Phillips and Preece on in the second half, we maintained our determination willingness to do everything, which surprisingly resulted in them going 1-0 up just after the interval. Weller was feeling an old injury and after battling on and had to be substituted, Jenkins went in Goals and Pugh moved to the wing.
The next period of play is fairly vague to me, sorry! I tend to give the football full concentration!
We continued to battle hard, an equalised through a trademark Phillips toe poke. Another goal good finish from Phillips and two quality strikes from Jenkins gave us a comfort zone, which to be honest we didn’t abuse, we carry one pressuring them! Their goalie even throwing his gloves to the floor, nearly walking off and declaring his team to be S***, (With many other words I won’t repeat!). When he decided to carry on, a cocky team mate coming on from the bench, marked by Pugh, said “ to feet, I can do him” or something along those lines to his goalie, which then followed by being tackled by Pugh, in which the shot cross the face of the goal hitting the inside of the net the other side.
Overall, a hard game with the heat, we battled hard, but a game I would have been very disappointed with, if we had of lost.
(Thankyou to Pugh for his very thorough review!)
